About Me
My name is Dave and I love web design and optimizing web sites. I especially love the process of making sure a site is built correctly right from the start so SEO is taken into consideration right at the outset (you know – smart URL’s, making sure the software has the tools to manage the SEO issues smartly and efficiently from day one etc.).
I built my first web site about 14 years ago on what I thought was a lightning fast 286 Intel PC. The site had HUGE images (let’s have a cup of coffee while this downloads boys) and very little text. I was so proud of that hideous monster. I’ve tried to wean myself off the web numerous times but relapse every time into way too many hours tweeting, blogging and optimizing. No rehab will accept me.
I’m 50 years old and I can safely say my addiction is permanent, but I like it that way.
My wife suffers from a similar addiction to graphic design and photography. Recently she took some amazing shots of an Ocelot near Arenal Volcano (I just had to include one here). She owns and operates a company named Ticode SRL in Costa Rica with about 10 employees, including graphic designers, web designers and some very talented programmers. 
On the graphics side they do everything from company logo packages to full catalogs and magazines – on the web side from simple HTML web sites to WordPress sites, Drupal sites and Custom designed e-commerce web sites. Ticode focuses on LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL and PHP).
I work for Ticode as the SEO Services specialist and help on large web development projects.
Organic SEO is both an art and a science; when done correctly, it’s a great thrill to watch a web site move to the top of the rankings and bring in the kind of quality traffic a site owner needs to make a success of his or her business. I get a great thrill watching a site move up in the rankings and seeing a business grow as a direct result of good quality optimization.
